*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*
The Education Assistant assists with implementation of departmental goals and objectives as set out by the Director of Education.
Provides support for departmental activities as directed by the Director of Education
* Assists with developing curriculum for groups planning their visits to the Museum.
* Responsible for assisting groups with planning visits to the Museum, including recording their visit in TripleSeat, working with the Assistant Director of Training to schedule Docents, and coordinating with other departments as needed.
* Helps plan educational activities that directly support the Museum’s mission, while meeting the educational standards set by groups served.
* Provides tours and educational support as needed.
* Assists the Department in creating a viable strategic plan that is in line with the Education Department’s line of effort and the common operating picture of the department and the Museum.
* As Camp Coordinator, tracks and reports all camp-related activities, attendance, and financial information to Director of Education in a timely manner.
* Responsible for planning and facilitating all camp-related activities.
This includes planning, resourcing, training camp staff and coordinating with NIMF staff to execute activities for 5 weeks of summer camp and several mini camps throughout the year.
* Tracks finances for camp activities and submits reports to Director of Education
* Tracks volunteer hours for camp staff and youth volunteers.
Provides this information to the Volunteer Coordinator for entry in the NIMF’s volunteer tracking software.
*Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:*
* Previous experience working with children.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external parties.
* Computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook).
* Ability to work as part of a team and independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
* Must be able to meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
* Identifies potential funding sources for programs focusing on available grants.
* Pursues professional development as approved by the Director of Education.
* Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $37,000.
